750 physician practice plan, 100+ primary care and specialty clinics and a
200K person Medicaid HMO. This $2.8B organization is the single academic medical center for central Virginia.
Accomplishments to date:
- Ongoing successful installation of the Cerner EMR with 100% CPOE in the inpatient and outpatient settings with successful achievement of MU Stage 1&2 ($32M)
- Complete Cerner EMR implementation across all 100 ambulatory clinics.
- Development of a unique clinical transformation organization under the CMIO.
- Selection and initiation of a new hospital billing system (IDX HPA) and ERP system (Lawson).
- A new 5 year IT strategic plan focused on business intelligence and 2nd order effects from the EMR.
